TECHNICAL SUPPORT: PROFESSOR FRANKLIN'S INSTANT PHOTO EFFECTS 2.0
Image has white line on outside edge when viewed in editing screen
This can sometimes occur as a result of the screen settings. It may be visible on screen but is not a part of the image and will not save or print with the image.
How do make the image background transparent after applying an edge?
Go to the Tools menu and select Background Color. The dialog has an option to set the background as transparent. When you save the file, save it as a TIF file as that format will retain the transparent background information within the file. Many applications such as Micorosft Office support trasnparent tif files. If you want to use the file within an application that does not support the transparent background then you may need to edit the file in software such as Photoshop. To edit in Photoshop, use the Load Selection menu item to load the background as a separate layer.
Emailing of image is not working
Emailing requires either that you have a Microsoft Outlook client software installed and will not work without it. Web based emailing such as Hotmail or Yahoo mail is not supported however you can still save the image and attach it to any email.
Screen display colors look poor
Having the computer set to 256 colors cause the screen to look bad, and slow down due to dithering. Solution: Go to the Control Panel and choose Display. From settings, change the video colors to high color.
Scanner will not scan
Some scanners are either not set up correctly or are not TWAIN complaint. As a result, they cannot be used from within Professor Franklin software. The work around is to scan directly using your scanning software and then save the image to disk. Then open that image from within your Professor Franklin software.
